Speaking with Confidence and Authenticity: Tools and Strategies for Effective Delivery in Public Speaking

Seminar Description: This workshop will explore different facets of public speaking delivery, including vocal tone, pace, and variety, eye contact and facial expressions, hand gestures, and body movement.  Participants will learn how to use each of these elements to connect with their audiences and communicate their messages clearly and persuasively.  Amy Arbogast and Maria Sepulveda of Spark Speak will provide tangible strategies for effective delivery, helping each participant to leave as a more confident, dynamic speaker.

Seminar Objectives/Talking Points:

  • Explore facets of effective public speaking delivery including voice, eye contact, hand gestures, and body movement
  • Help participants to think about their own speaking styles and how they can grow as speakers
  • Provide tangible strategies and tips participants can begin to employ immediately
  • Empower participants to speak with confidence and authenticity


About Amy and Maria:

Amy Arbogast and Maria Sepulveda are the co-founders and Lead Coaches of Spark Speak LLC.  Amy is also an Associate Professor of Writing and Speaking at the University of Rochester, where she has directed the Speaking Center for over a decade.  Maria holds an MBA from the Simon School of Business and provides training in leadership communication and critical conversations.  Spark Speak provides workshops and coaching sessions on all kinds of public speaking.  If you're working on a presentation, putting together an elevator or business pitch, preparing for interviews, or even just want to build your general public speaking skillset, we're happy to help!
